Recent Purchase: ALEXANDER WANG

About two weeks ago I walked into Neiman Marcus to find that everything fall was beginning to make its display. Through my peruse I knew that almost none of the clothes would be of any use to me currently (you know, considering my geographic standing)... but that notion vanished when I came across Alexander Wangs fall 2012 "A Line Mini Skirt". I seriously haven't felt this much love for a garment in a very long time. When I put it on in the dressing room something inside me wanted to keep it on forever, as ridiculous as that may sound. It felt cozy, delicious, and I couldn't stop imagining how amazing it would look with chunky knit sweaters and tight turtle necks in winter. So with all that said, it became my most recent purchase.

Nasser-Ali, a talented musician, loses the will to live after his wife breaks his beloved violin during an argument. He searches for a replacement, and finding none that sounds quite the same, he vows to die. Eight days later, he does. This is the story of his last week of life, where we see flashbacks and flash forwards of his previous life and his children's futures. We also see appearances of a nude Sophia Loren as well as the angel of death, Azarel. As we see his life, we realize exactly why he chose to end it and the profundity of this choice.

Hey everyone - so the "hiatus" wasn't voluntary. Turns out my computer had more issues than I thought... but I'm glad to say that I am truly back now. I hated being away from the realm of fashion for three weeks... although in everyday life that isn't a long time, in the world of fashion it's the equivalent of 3 years. I know I've probably missed out on countless covers and editorials (like Lady Gaga on the cover of Vogue looking as animated as a cartoon), and some really amazing fashion films (I'm almost afraid to know exactly how many). So to make up for it, I've decided to compile a few of my favorites of the month thus far, as well as some photos I've taken of my own throughout these dreadful... "years". I hope you enjoy and I hope I haven't lost too many of you! x
