TROUVÉ handbag

Clearly vintage inspired, I'd had my eye on this bag for quite awhile now, and today is the day I finally gussied up the urge to buy it. I really love the scaley snake like texture, and the way it kind of looks like the feminine, more fashionable version of a brief case. One of the best things about it to me is the fact that it fits so many things and has lots of pockets! Really happy with this purchase x

Royksopp - Eple
Had to search EXTENSIVELY through my iTunes library to find this song; I remembered the way it sounded, but I didn't remember what it was called/who it was by. When I got to it I said to myself, how could I have forgotten this was Royksopp? So good, so fun, hope you enjoy x

CURRENT/ELLIOTT

Probably one of the more comfy, care-free pair of jeans I own are my CURRENT/ELLIOTT python prints. I remember the feeling I got when first seeing them... it was one of those "I have to have these" purchases. But it wasn't until about three months later that I finally got them on a mega sale where by then, they were only $100. I haven't regretted the purchase since, obviously! I always feel like doing cart wheels when I wear them... even though I've never been able to achieve a cart-wheel successfully in my entire life.

Found the photos of this collection via Filep Motwary's blog Un Nouvea Ideal and instantly fell in love. I love how the collection has such complexity and experimentation with different colours and ways to weld a fabric, yet still keeping it simple and beautiful.

Spike Jonze: Mourir Auprès de Toi (To Die By Your Side)

Spike Jonze: Mourir Auprès de Toi on Nowness.com.

I love the array of emotions this gave me in a span of just five minutes. Co-created by designer Olympia Le-Tan and filmmaker Spike Jonze, this stop-motion short film animation is definitely the best thing I've seen in awhile. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did x

If you have further interest in seeing what inspired the film, you can read two individual interviews of both Jonze and Le-tan, exclusively for Nowness.com.

Song of the Day

The vultures are back (and so is the sun). Thought this song was appropriate on such a fine morning. I can't wait to ride my bike to school in this cool weather! Hope you have a wonderful day x

Alexander Wang: Prisma

So this was pretty much love at first site. It's a very convenient, on-the-go, traveler like large wallet/clutch that carries the bare necessities; cash, cards, phone, passport, pen. The leather is smooth and rich, but the zipper so far is a little tough, especially when it comes to going around one of the edges. I absolutely love the metal corners, very reminiscent of the metal collar craze. There's really nothing bad I can say about this, because I love everything about it, hence why I bought it. I just can't figure out where I'm going to put my cigarettes...

Stumbled upon...

A brand called Osklen this afternoon and fell in love with just about everything it had to offer. It's a Brazilian sportswear company that's been around since circa '89, both founded and owned by Oskar Metsavaht. All of the clothes is very minimal, modern, and made with high-quality fabrics. There's something special about this brand though, the fact that I found a coat in the style of a trench but made out of a very thin wool, with black paint on the ends made it much more desirable and different than any other coat I'd seen before, yet still timeless.

Here is the Fall/Winter 2011 Collection:

Really loved the styling in this editorial so I had to post it. This weekend was uneventful for the most part; stayed in and got some much needed rest. I miss the sun, but here's to another rainy week x

Nowhere

One of my favourite fashion bloggers, the pretty swede Elin Kling, is about to debut (alongside designer Nhu Duong) her first ever clothing line NOWHERE. I'm obviously extremely excited about this, not only because of the previews I've already seen of the collection on her blog, but also because of how much I know Elin loves beautiful and minimalistic clothing. And guess what? The collection is available to the US in only THREE more days!

Alexander McQueen RTW SS 2012

O.K. So, I didn't really expect this to be so good, but I was pleasantly surprised. The collection is filled with romance, lace, ruffles, darkness and intricacy to say the least... and in my opinion, nothing short of McQueen magic. BUT I do feel like something was definitely missing atop all the models heads, like McQueen himself would have added some extravagant head pieces to go with each garment. What do you think?

MADness

It took tin brass metal, chrome pleating and black nappa leather to form what is apparently inspired by the relationship between Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera. Bag yours right HERE.
